This complete gut renovation of a penthouse in Miami’s Sunset Harbour reflects Studio RODA’s mastery in combining clean, contemporary interior design with rich, tactile materials that evoke warmth and sophistication. Designed for a young couple and their growing family, the space needed to feel modern and inviting yet distinctively different from typical Miami interiors. European elm wood and absolute black granite, honed and brushed for a soft, leathery texture underfoot, create warmth and comfort within the sleek, modern kitchen, living, and dining areas. Influenced by the clients’ love of the iconic Scarpa table, copper accents are featured throughout the apartment. These warm metal details appear in lighting fixtures, plumbing faucets, and a polished copper bar, adding refined character to the minimalist bedroom and living spaces. The color palette is intentionally darker and more subdued than the typical Miami brightness, combining warm leathers with deep blue accents, crafting a cozy yet contemporary atmosphere. The bathroom was completely redone, and the layout carefully planned to finish this elegant makeover. The result is a luxury penthouse that feels timeless and personal.
