Studio RODA reimagined this contemporary Miami oceanfront apartment for American radio host and philanthropist Tom Joyner, crafting a one-of-a-kind interior design that reflects his vibrant personality and decades in music and media. Joyner’s brief was clear: no more beige — bring color, joy, and energy. Inspired by the glamour of 1970s Milan and the golden age of disco, the design blends nostalgia with a fresh, contemporary sensibility. Saturated Venetian stucco walls in jewel tones provide a striking backdrop for custom furnishings and rare collectible pieces: two vintage 1970s Terrazzo suede sofas, a lime green cast-resin dining table, and a sculptural Murano glass chandelier by 6:AM based in Milan. The modern interior includes a bespoke club room for entertaining, a disco ball-inspired bar, and custom-built millwork and bedroom furnishings by D-Coded International. Design pieces such as the Blowing Armchair by Seungjin Yang and the Esfera Lounge Chair by Ricardo Fasanello sit alongside Joyner’s curated art collection, featuring works by Picasso, Kapoor, and Ernie Barnes. This vibrant Miami residence embodies the spirit of modern apartment luxury design: playful, personal, and unapologetically bold. Studio RODA delivered a joyful customized interior — a dynamic celebration of Joyner’s creative legacy and the next chapter of his life.
