SUNSET HARBOUR V
This luxury apartment in Sunset Harbour began as two separate units and was completely reimagined through a full-scale remodeling and renovation by Studio RODA. The layout was reconfigured to support the lifestyle of a couple who are avid art collectors. Their vision: a home that feels like a gallery, where every design element quietly supports the artwork without competing for attention. To accomplish this, the interiors were stripped back to a restrained palette of soft neutrals. White oak was used extensively, in the flooring, dining table, and living room seating, creating a unified base that feels both contemporary and timeless. The materials nod subtly to mid-century design while embracing a minimalist, modern aesthetic. One of the most striking architectural interventions was the treatment of a structural wall, which couldn’t be removed due to the building’s constraints. Studio RODA clad it in polished stainless steel, applying a principle inspired by Mies van der Rohe’s Barcelona Pavilion. The reflective surface visually dissolves into its surroundings, allowing natural light and artwork to take precedence. Throughout the apartment, lighting, furnishings, and finishes were selected to stay quiet, letting the couple’s art collection shine. Expansive views of Downtown Miami and the Venetian Islands add to the home’s sense of lightness and space, reinforcing its gallery-like atmosphere.
